The Bizarre World of Frank Zappa World
Tour 2019
“This mind-melting show we’re putting
together celebrates the music, often surreal
imagery and humour synonymous with Frank ”
Ahmet Zappa
The Frank Zappa hologram tour has recruited
its band of former Mothers for the “Bizarre
World of Frank Zappa” for this monumental
series of shows.
The touring unit itself boasts guitarists
Ray White and Mike Keneally, bassist Scott
Thunes, multi-instrumentalist Robert Martin,
Ed Mann and drummer and Zappa archivist Joe
“Vaultmeister” Travers. Hours of
never-before-seen Zappa performance footage
from the early seventies will form the basis
of the “can’t miss” concert spectacle. The
tour is produced in close cooperation with
the Zappa Family Trust.

Return
to Grace -
Video
Clip
Tribute to the legendary Elvis Presley. From
the first time he came into our lives we
knew we were in for something special - a
shy droopy-eyed kid with a swivel and
swagger that could make women swoon who from
the smallest of Tennessee towns to the
biggest stage on the planet would change the
meaning of music for generations of fans
around the world. With us for only a short
time, the victim of the excesses of fame,
his iconic image nevertheless lives on. A
glorious and heartfelt one-of-a-kind tribute
to the memory of the man who will remain in
our hearts forever, RETURN TO GRACE traces
the most amazing and greatest of musical
moments of the 20th century - from the early
years through The Comeback to the triumphant

Brussels Philharmonic
International Art Campus at de
Singel in Brussels, Belgium
Frank
Zappa once said: "Jazz isn't dead, it just smells
funny". In spite of this , he composed a large number of
works that could be labeled as jazz. The Liège-based
quintet The Wrong Object has gained a strong
international reputation with this repertoire. Their
record label is New York's well-known Moonjune Records.
So, in 'Arf! Arf! Arf!' you can expect highly original
versions of Zappa compositions!
The
Brussels Philharmonic has already had some experience
with Zappa's work: in 1995 they played 'The Purple
Cucumber' at deSingel and in 2000 there was a Zappa
concert in De Bijloke. In 'Arf! Arf! Arf!' they will be
kicking off with Edgard Varèse's 'Octandre'. This had a
huge influence on Zappa's work, with Zappa describing
him as 'The Idol of My Youth'. Following on from this is
a symphonic selection from '200 Motels', Tony Palmer's
1971 soundtrack album of the film of the same name. In
it, Zappa and his group, The Mothers of Invention, play
the lead role. It's about the disorientation that a pop
group experiences while on tour, when every motel in
every town blurs into a whirlpool of images. In it,
Zappa also gives his take on the 'orchestra issue': what
do you do with a burnt out violinist on the third row of
the second violins? Bobby Martin is MC for the evening,
and will be guiding you through the wonderful world of
'Zappa Symphonic'.
